Contact Seals
Contact seals get their name from the contact they have between the rotating body and the casing.
By providing the direct contact, the substance flow between the sealed system and the outer atmosphere is reduced to a minimum. In comparison to labyrinth seals, contact seals nearly eliminate contamination entirely.
